Ashley (Hawaii Urban Photography)

This is my baby sister Ashley who was visiting us in January. I did a quick 15 minute mini-shoot with her just for fun. In post-processing I played around with different effects like boosting the colors, changing to sepia, black & white and funky color adjustments. I usually follow color adjustments with any skin retouching if needed but these photos are NOT retouched. Yep, I like how these turned out...but she's going to kill me for putting in that squishy face photo of her! Hey, it's just for fun! CLICK the PLAY button and allow the slide-show to upload.

January 1st, 2009. A SURPRISE PROPOSAL and Engagement session

I'm stoked to have been able to capture this surprise proposal on January 1st, 2009. Noah (who is also a photographer) called me up and told me of his way cool plan to surprise his girlfriend Becky with a proposal on North Shore of Oahu. I waited at the planned location and pretended to be shooting scenics. Noah's friend John was hiding out in the bushes with a video camera. When Noah got down on one knee and proposed to Becky she was totally surprised! What a way to start the new year! Woohoo! Congratulations Noah and Becky! Kaua's On-line Announcement

As of now, this guy is my favorite little person. I have a few ideas for Kaua's announcement, this is my "on-line" announcement, but I'm playing with a few more designs. I love this time getting to know my baby!

THANKFUL

I have an itchy trigger finger to shoot more creative photos of Kaua, but lack the energy and feeling drugged out from the pain-pills. I take a lot of naps with Kaua, as my sleeping schedule is WHACKED! Sorry, I'm operating on low batteries. More pictures to come. I hope to be recharged soon!

Curt and I laugh at feeling like rookies in the first week. It's been awhile! -6 years since we've had a little one! We're back in the saddle again! I forgot about how many poopy diapers these little people can produce. Wouldn't have it any other way though. I AM THANKFUL FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL LIFE, faith, health, strength, the miracle of a newborn and the blessings that each member brings to our home. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Tell me, what you thankful for?

It's a BOY!

I'm a ZOMBIE. I'll have to edit this post and continue another day! Kaua Terangi Toyokazu Okimoto, born on Friday 11/14/08 at 5:07 am. 7lbs. 9oz. @ Kaiser, Honolulu. Kaua means "rain" (Hawaiian), Terangi "heaven" (Tahitian), Toyokazu is Grandpa Okimoto's middle name which means "peace" or "prosperity" in Japanese. When we were coming home on Saturday evening, it was raining. It rained most of the day on Sunday too. He's such a good baby, doesn't really fuss, eats really good AND slept 5 1/2 hours on his second night home, my other babies were always up every 2 hours to feed! He's such a cutie. The kids are all over him and want to carry, feed, change him- etc. Sending love from our growing `ohana!
